WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT AND HOLIEST PLACE IN THE CHURCH?
The most important and holiest place in the Church?…It is not the altar, nor the Cross, nor the central image of the altar piece. They are important, but not the most important. What is it then?
The most important and holiest place in the Church or oratory is the TABERNACLE for it contains Jesus is really, truly and substantially present in the Most Blessed Sacrament or Most Holy Eucharist! Imagine the immensity of God’s love and humility for us that he willingly wanted to be “imprisoned” in a small box, to accompany, console, and strengthen us; to remain with us for always, for love always seeks union with the beloved.
The tabernacle (at the center covered with a purple veil) is the holiest and most important place in the Church.
That is why whenever we enter the Church, let us always look for the Tabernacle first and greet Him with an adoring genuflection, accompanying Him and repaying the love He has shown us. Let us also visit Him daily, talk to Him, thank Him and tell Him that we love Him, making sure that He is never left alone.
O Most Blessed Sacrament, Lord Jesus in the Tabernacle, we believe in your real, true and substantial presence in the Most Holy Eucharist. We adore you, bless you, hope in you, and love you!
