POPE FRANCIS’ PRAYER TO MOTHER MARY, HEALTH OF THE SICK AGAINST COVID-19. ORATIO IMPERATA FOR COVID-19
POPE FRANCIS’ PRAYER
TO MOTHER MARY,
HEALTH OF THE SICK
FOR COVID-19.
Pope Francis composed a prayer to Our Lady, Health of the Sick, to implore her protection during the Covid-19 coronavirus epidemic. The prayer was offered yesterday, Mar. 11, 2020, to mark the Diocese of Rome’s day of prayer and fasting for the coronavirus emergency. Pope Francis wanted to entrust the city of Rome, all of Italy, and “the entire world to the protection of the Mother of God, as a sign of salvation and hope” during the ongoing coronavirus emergency.
O Mary, you shine continuously on our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick.
At the foot of the Cross you participated in Jesus’ pain,
with steadfast faith.
Protectress of God’s People, know what we need.
We are certain that you will provide, so that,
as you did at Cana of Galilee,
joy and feasting might return after this moment of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love,
to conform ourselves to the Father’s will
and to do what Jesus tells us:
He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and bore our sorrows to bring us,
through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.
We fly to your patronage , O Holy Mother of God.
Despise not our petitions in our necesities but deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.

ORATIO IMPERATA FOR COVID-19 (CBCP)
God our Father
we come to You in our need
to ask Your protection against the 2019 N-coronavirus
that has claimed lives
and has affected many.
We pray for Your grace
for the people tasked with studying the nature and cause
of this virus and its disease
and of stemming the tide of its transmission.
Guide the hands and minds of medical experts
that they may minister to the sick
with competence and compassion
and of those governments and private agencies
that must find cure and solution to this epidemic.
We pray for those afflicted.
May they be restored to health soon.
Grant us the grace
to work for the good of all
and to help those in need.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son
who lives and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God forever and ever. Amen.
