WANT TO FALL IN LOVE WITH JESUS?
DEAL WITH HIS SACRED HUMANITY!
“Jesus as a child and as an adolescent. I love to picture you like this, Lord, because I somehow pluck up more courage. I love to see you as a tiny, almost helpless babe. It makes me feel you need me (St. Josemaria, Forge, n. 301”
Dear brethren in Christ, holiness consists in falling in love with Our Lord Jesus Christ which is only possible through His grace and our correspondence to it to want what He wants, to reject what He rejects: a Love which leads to identification with the beloved. But for this to occur, intimate and frequent dealing with Jesus is necessary.
OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST BECAME MAN IN ORDER TO TEACH US TO LIVE A HUMANITY WHICH WILL LEAD TO DIVINITY. This is the reason why we need to deal with the Sacred Humanity of Our Lord Jesus Christ and imitate Him, for every thought, word, desire and action He carried out on earth leads us to heaven and teaches us a great lesson to imitate if we are to live His life.
As the Compendium of the Catechism, n. 104 states:
“In the course of his hidden life in Nazareth Jesus stayed in the silence of an ordinary existence. This allows us to enter into fellowship with him in the holiness to be found in a daily life marked by prayer, simplicity, work and family love.”
And the Blessed Paul VI states:
“The home of Nazareth is the school where we begin to understand the life of Jesus – the school of the Gospel. First, then, a LESSON OF SILENCE. May esteem for silence, that admirable and indispensable condition of mind, revive in us. . . A LESSON ON FAMILY LIFE. May Nazareth teach us what family life is, its communion of love, its austere and simple beauty, and its sacred and inviolable character… A LESSON OF WORK. Nazareth, home of the “Carpenter’s Son”, in you I would choose to understand and proclaim the severe and redeeming law of human work… (Paul VI at Nazareth, 5 January 1964: LH, Feast of the Holy Family, OR).”
Let us ask Our Lady and St. Joseph to help us grow in our intimate relationship with Jesus: in our LOVE for the Second Person of the Most Holy Trinity, Perfect God and Perfect Man with a love which leads us to identify ourselves with Him in our thoughts, words, desires, actions: in our life!
