ADORE, LOVE AND RECEIVE JESUS TRULY PRESENT IN THE HOLY EUCHARIST
Today’s Gospel taken from the Gospel of Mark 3: 1-12, recounts how Jesus “had cured many and, as a result, those who had diseases were pressing upon him to touch him.”
We do not have the same luck as those Jews who were able to physically see and touch Our Lord Jesus Christ in person, but WE MUST NOT FORGET THAT JESUS, who lived more than 2000 years ago in Israel, IS THE SAME JESUS WHO, out of His Immense Love for us has wanted to remain united with us, and IS REALLY, TRULY AND SUBSTANTIALLY PRESENT IN IT, RESERVED IN THE BLESSED SACRAMENT.
Let us adore, talk and love Jesus in the Holy Eucharist and ask him as we pray in the Hymn “Adoro te devote” (I adore Thee devoutly) to increase our faith, hope and love for Him:
“Thy dread wounds, like Thomas, though I cannot see,
His be my confession, Lord and God, of Thee,
Make my faith unfeigned ever-more increase,
Give me hope unfading, love that cannot cease.”
