PRAYERS TO THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS.
Here you have some prayers which you might want to tell Our Lord.
PRAYER 1: SHORT FORM
Sacred Heart of Jesus,
filled with infinite love,
broken by my ingratitude,
pierced by my sins,
yet loving me still,
accept the consecration that I make to You,
of all that I am and all that I have.
Take every faculty of my soul and body,
and draw me, day by day,
nearer and nearer to Your Sacred Side,
and there, as I can bear the lesson,
teach me Your blessed ways.
Amen.
PRAYER 2: FROM ST. MARGARET MARY ALACOQUE
I give myself and consecrate to the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ, my person and my life, my actions, pains and sufferings, so that I may be unwilling to make use of any part of my being other than to honor, love and glorify the sacred heart.
This is my unchanging purpose, namely, to be all his, and to do all things for the love of him, at the same time renouncing with all my heart whatever is displeasing to him.
I therefore take you, o sacred heart, to be the only object of my love, the guardian of my life, my assurance of salvation, the remedy of my weakness and inconstancy, the atonement for all the faults of my life and my sure refuge at the hour of death.
Be then, o heart of goodness, my justification before God the Father, and turn away from me the strokes of his righteous anger. O heart of love, I put all my confidence in you, for I fear everything from my own wickedness and frailty, but I hope for all things from your goodness and bounty.
Remove from me all that can displease you or resist your holy will; let your pure love imprint your image so deeply upon my heart, that i shall never be able to forget you or to be separated from you.
May I obtain from all your loving kindness the grace of having my name written in your heart, for in you I desire to place all my happiness and glory, living and dying in bondage to you. Amen.
PRAYER 3:
O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
living a life-giving fountain of eternal life,
infinite treasure of the divinity,
glowing furnace of divine love,
in You I find my rest and my sure refuge.
Most loving Savior,
inflame my heart with the same burning love which enkindles Your own;
pour into my heart the manifold graces of Your heart.
Grant that Your Will be mine and
that mine be in conformity with Yours for all eternity.
Amen.
PRAYER 4
O Most Holy Heart of Jesus, fountain of every blessing,
I adore Thee, I love Thee, and with a lively sorrow for my sins,
I offer Thee this poor heart of mine.
Make me bumble, patient, pure,
and wholly obedient to Thy will.
Grant, good Jesus, that I may live in Thee and for Thee.
Protect me in the midst of danger;
comfort me in my afflictions;
give me health of body,
assistance in my temporal needs,
Thy blessing on all that I do,
and the grace of a holy death.
PRAYER 5
Grant me Thy grace, most merciful Jesus,
that it may be with me
and work with me
and persevere with me even to the end.
Grant that I may always desire
and will that which is to Thee most acceptable and most dear.
Let Thy will be mine,
and let my will ever follow Thine
and agree perfectly with it.
Let my willing and not-willing be all one with Thine
and let me not be able to will or not will anything else
but what Thou willest or willest not.
