POPE FRANCIS:
PLACE THE SACRAMENT OF CONFESSION AT THE CENTER OF LENT
Dear brethren in Christ, in his Bull of Indiction for the Extrajubilar Year of Mercy, “Misericordiae vultus (Face of Mercy),” Pope Francis said that:
The season of Lent during this Jubilee Year should also be lived more intensely as a privileged moment to celebrate and experience God’s mercy. PLACE THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION AT THE CENTRE ONCE MORE IN SUCH A WAY THAT IT WILL ENABLE PEOPLE TO TOUCH THE GRANDEUR OF GOD’S MERCY WITH THEIR OWN HANDS.
Let us take heed of the Pope’s advice, knowing that the 1st step to live this Season of Lent which is a season of conversion, is repenting for our sins and humbly asking God’s pardon and mercy which He is willing to give us in the Sacrament of Confession.
