On Advent (3): GUIDE TO CONFESSION.
EXAMINATION OF CONSCIENCE (for adults).

Dear friends, as we have mentioned in the previous post (Advent 2: Interior preparation), the best way to prepare ourselves for Christmas is for Jesus to have a “place in the inn”  of our soul by going to the sacrament of Confession so as to be in the state of grace 🙂 and hence, give the best gift to Jesus.

God is so good: He knows the stuff we are made of -we are weak sinners in need of His mercy and pardon- and that is why He instituted the Sacrament of Confession giving the Holy Spirit and the power to His disciples and their successors to forgive sins:

“When he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained (John 20:22-23).

God is so rich in mercy and He has the capacity to forgive and forget. As Pope Francis has repeated many times, “God doesn’t get tired in forgiving us…it is we who get tired of asking forgiveness”.

Confession is the sacrament of Joy and Divine Mercy! When we humble ourselves and ask pardon for our sins, we are not condemned as in a human tribunal, but rather, in this divine tribunal, we are forgiven by Jesus who is acting in the priest.

To facilitate things for you, I made this meme to help you in your examination of conscience for confession. It also includes the act of contrition and the simple steps of Confession. You can download it on your smartphones and share it as much and as often as you wish in order to help more people come closer to Christ this Christmas. Hope it would be of good help to you and your relatives and friends.

Have a great week ahead and God bless you and your loved ones!
