An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, which the faithful Christian who is duly disposed gains under certain prescribed conditions through the action of the Church. It could be partial or plenary according as it removes either part or all of the temporal punishment due to sin. The faithful can gain indulgences for themselves or apply them to the dead.
-Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 1471-

One could gain a plenary indulgence daily as well throughout the year fulfilling the prescribed conditions above and an act of piety prescribed by the Church, for example:

  • Mental prayer or visit to the Blessed Sacrament for at least 30 minutes.
  • Praying the Holy Rosary with your family/friends.

Let us make the most out of the many graces God wishes to grant us to have a purified soul and thank Him as well for giving Her Church the task of dispensing the treasures of His Great Mercy.
