HOLINESS IN DAILY TASKS DONE OUT OF LOVE.

Holiness and daily duties for love

HOLINESS IN DAILY TASKS DONE OUT OF LOVE.
Seek, find and love God in the little things of each day!

Dear friends, it’s helpful to be reminded once in a while that God awaits for us in each moment during the day to convert all our activities into palpable means of seeking, finding and loving Him, whether at home, at work, at school, at rest, in social gatherings, or even when we’re alone…God is there! It is up to us to find God, the divine in our secular tasks, and to elevate and divinize them by carrying them out the best way we could and with love of God.

St. Josemaria, the instrument God chose to proclaim the universal call to holiness, wrote:

“You must realise now, more clearly than ever, that God is calling you to serve him in and from the ordinary, secular and civil activities of human life. He waits for us everyday, in the laboratory, in the operating theatre, in the army barracks, in the university chair, in the factory, in the workshop, in the fields, in the home and in all the immense panorama of work. Understand this well: there is something holy, something divine hidden in the most ordinary situations, and it is up to each one of you to discover it.” (Passionately Loving the World, n. 52)

“The holiness that Our Lord demands of you is to be achieved by carrying out with love of God your work and your daily duties, and these will almost always consist of small realities.”

Let us live more in God’s presence, convinced that holiness consists in little things done for love of God and let us ask the help of Our Lady and St. Joseph so that making Jesus, −God−, happy shall be the goal of our thoughts, desires, words and actions throughout the entire day.
