3RD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME YEAR C

GOD’S LOVE AND CLEANSING MERCY IN CONFESSION. Summary vid + full text.

“COME NOW, LET US SET THINGS RIGHT, SAYS THE LORD.” GOD’S LOVE AND CLEANSING MERCY IN CONFESSION. Summary vid + full text.

God desires our conversion through Confession and our struggle out of love for Him to cease from doing evil because He wants us to be happy.

At the same time, God respects our freedom and if we are willing to obey him, no matter how grave our sins may be, He promises his pardon in the Sacrament of Confession, giving us a clean slate to begin again in this journey towards heaven and recovering the profound happiness which is a consequence of a clean life and of our union and friendship with God.

“Wash yourselves clean! Put away your misdeeds from before my eyes; cease doing evil; learn to do good. Make justice your aim: redress the wronged, hear the orphan’s plea, defend the widow.

Come now, let us set things right, says the Lord: though your sins be like scarlet, they may become white as snow; though they be crimson red, they may become white as wool. If you are willing, and obey, you shall eat the good things of the land; but if you refuse and resist, the sword shall consume you: for the mouth of the Lord has spoken!” -Isaiah 1:10, 16-20.

Through the intercession of Our Lady, Refuge of Sinners, and St. Joseph, Master of Interior Life, may we have the contrition, courage to put the means to “set things right,” as the Lord tells us through the means He established, the Sacrament of Confession.
