Sundays:
DEVOTION TO THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
St. Josemaria taught his spiritual children, without obliging them, to dedicate a day to a certain pious devotion, very few devotions but constant in the life of child of God. Since loving Triune God is the purpose of our life here on earth, it is necessary that we grow in our familiarity and intimate dealing with each and every Person of the Most Holy Trinity. As Pope Francis said:
“Everything, in Christian life, revolves around the mystery of the Trinity and is fulfilled in this infinite mystery. Let us look, therefore, to keep high the “tone” of our life, reminding ourselves to what end, for what glory we exist, work, struggle, suffer; and to which immense prize we are called [to have].”
In order to grow in one’s personal dealing and intimacy with the Three Persons in One God – God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit−, the Most Holy Trinity. St. Josemaria chose Sunday as the day during which he puts more effort in praying and talking to each Person of the Triune God.
You might also want to practice this pious and important devotion. There are many ways, each one could invent his own, to deal with the Most Holy Trinity.
- Talk with God the Father, with God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Tell them that you want to love them more.
- Thank them, ask for help, ask for their mercy….let your childlike heart enter into intimacy with the Most Holy Trinity.
- Say prayers you know like Glory Be or the part of the Apostles Creed. You might also want to say the following beautiful prayers:
PRAYER OF CONSECRATION TO THE MOST HOLY TRINITY
O Everlasting and Triune God, I consecrate myself wholly to you today.
Let all my days offer you ceaseless praise, my hands move to the rhythm of your impulses, my feet be swift in your service, my voice sing constantly of you, my lips proclaim your message, my eyes perceive you everywhere, and my ears be attuned to your inspirations.
Glory be to the Father,
Who by His almighty power and love created me, making me in the image and likeness of God.
Glory be to the Son,
Who by His Precious Blood delivered me from hell, and opened for me the gates of heaven.
Glory be to the Holy Spirit,
Who has sanctified me in the sacrament of Baptism, and continues to sanctify me by the graces I receive daily from His bounty.
Glory be to the Three adorable Persons of the Holy Trinity, now and forever. Amen
Have a great Sunday to you and your family. God bless!
